Welcome to the wedding of Lacyce and Monty! Everything about this wedding was so full of soul, love and fun! The bridal party all gathered at The Dansereau House in Thibodaux to get ready. Lacyce and her girls had the whole top floor, which is an amazing location for bridal prep. The options for photography are endless up here and there is plenty of room for everyone to spread out and not be on top of each other. The guys were in a few rooms on the second floor, which allows them access to the balcony where they hung out while waiting for the ceremony to start. Second photographer, Amanda, met up with the guys to capture some candids of Monty getting dressed and even captured him FaceTiming his brother, who couldn’t be at the ceremony. There are some great images of Monty and his family chatting with his brother and even took a group photo with him (on the phone!). Outdoors, behind house is a beautiful, ivy covered wall which made a great backdrop for the guys in their casual outfits … and can we just talk about that for a second? I LOVE that Monty and his guys wore jeans and cowboy boots with their jackets and ties. What a unique choice and it went so well with Lacyce’s dress and overall bridal look!
Speaking of Lacyce’s look, how about that 2 piece, off the shoulder wedding gown? SO perfect and I love how Lacyce went with a loose updo topped with a delicate flower crown and rounded out her look with colorful cowboy boots! Lacyce’s girls were so much fun during the getting ready part of the day and had so many fun ideas for photos – like a pillow fight on the bed! I always try to take a moment after the bride is dressed to get some quiet, natural light images of her and Lacyce just rocked these – she’s a natural with the camera.
Lacyce and Monty chose to have a first look and Dansereau was a great option for this. I wanted to do something different with them because they are such a fun couple and their wedding had so many unique elements. So Lacyce and I chatted about a few ideas I had and we settled on having them stand next to each other with their eyes covered, turning to look at the same time. This took everyone in the bridal party to pull off as they walked Lacyce over to Monty with her eyes closed. The image of them side by side with their hands over their eyes is one of my favorites and they were so cute when they finally saw each other.
Because of the first look, we were able to have plenty of time to do some portraits of the two of them as well as all of the formals. The images of the two of them together really show how much they love each other – the way they look at each other and the smile on Lacyce’s face says it all!
The ceremony and reception were both held at The Foundry on the Bayou and the ceremony was the funniest I’ve ever witnessed. They had a friend officiate the ceremony and he had his own ideas for vows, which made for some funny commentary. Because all of the formals were done before the ceremony, we were able to go straight into dances, cake photos and the rest of the party! They definitely have a great group of friends around them and the reception was a ton of fun. I love the string lights at The Foundry and how they accent the background of the photos, it really adds to the ambiance. True to the rest of the wedding, their wedding cake was also unique – the rustic 3 tiered cake was painted to look like wood with a simple topper and fresh flowers. The night ended with a sparkler exit – no better way to send Lacyce and Monty off to their happily ever after!
